Retrofit windows, also called replacement windows, are a great option if you have a small project, are under time restrictions, or are looking for something more cost friendly. Retrofit windows are made to fit inside an already existing window opening. With this option, the window itself is the only thing being replaced and does not require exterior materials around the window to be removed as well.

New Construction

If you are building a new home or home addition, new construction windows are what you're looking for. Since these type of windows are installed directly into the frame of the home, this allows for more creative freedom for custom designs.

If you're thinking about using new construction windows for your home remodel, keep in mind that the exterior materials around the window will need to be removed in order to expose the studs of the home.
